Are you hesitating between several plant-based colours or do you like working with natural shades?

The Pyrenean Palette Skein allows you to discover several shades in a single product.

This palette brings together 5 mini skeins of 20 g, each dyed with a different plant, simply held together to form a 100 g skein. Once the skein is unravelled, you have 5 separate mini skeins, ready to be wound into balls and used for your knitting or crochet project.

It's the ideal solution for testing the unique texture of my local Pyrenean wool and discovering the beautiful natural colours I offer, derived from plants.

Why choose this format?

  •  To discover several shades before ordering larger skeins.
  •  For knitting or crocheting small jacquard accessories with stripes or colourful accents.
  •  To give a lovely gift to lovers of knitting and natural dyes.
  •  To support a local, ethical and sustainable wool industry.

This palette is available on my Sport base (2-ply), a local two-ply wool that is lightweight, sturdy and suitable for intermediate needles (3–3.5 mm).

Bases included:

French production with traceability certified by LAINAMAC (yarns listed in the Lanathèque):

- Collected and sorted by hand in Val d'Azun in the Hautes-Pyrénées, by myself

- Washed, carded and spun at the artisanal spinning mill in Niaux, Ariège

- Dyed at the Myrobolan Teintures Végétales workshop in Felletin, in the Creuse region

The colours are obtained from plant extracts, using a bio-mordant. The Azun and Peira bases are composed of several colours (to be selected from the options).

Care

The wool is not superwash: hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, then dry flat. If you wish to use your machine's wool programme, test it first on a sample. For more care advice, visit my blog.

NB: Despite every effort to ensure that the photos accurately reflect the colour, it may vary depending on your screen.
